Working Hard

Does this look like a kitchen to you?
I hope so, because it is mine for a while.
We have been extremely busy since we closed on the house.
Two weeks of non stop going.
And Christmas.
And illness.
Yeah, lots of fun.
So we are gutting the kitchen this week and this is going to be my kitchen cabinets for a bit.

We have moved in, such as it is.
This is everything we own in Az that is not in our RV.
We still have to go back to Tx to get the rest of our stuff.
There is not much there either.

We have been doing minor projects around the house.
A new thermostat...
A pretty new toilet.
New valves through the house, gas and water.
Removing closet doors...
The important things cannot be overstated..
Internet.
And the best of all.

Friday

This Friday we are closing on our new home.
2 weeks and 2 days from originally seeing it.
I cannot call it "Our Forever Home" as we don't know what God has in store for us.
I can call it "Our Roots Home"
This home will give us roots like we have not had in many years.
It will give us a church family that we love very much.
It will give our daughter a bedroom that she has not had since she was 6.
She is now 15.

We are excited and ready to go.
I think.

Good thing we are not scared of a challenge.
It looks like we finally have the project that we have been looking for.
I found a listing on Craigslist, made the call and decided to go for it.
Looks like it will be a whopping 13 days from finding the listing to final closing.
God always works that way with us. We have to wait..and wait.
Then He moves very quickly.
Don't you just love this kitchen?
No appliances but we have a 2 canister water filter? Okay, whatever.
This old girl has solid bones but has a serious need for a spa.
She is an older single wide with a nice add on.
And she sits on a sweet 1/3 of an acre in town.
It is hard to think about a single wide having grown up in Texas.
We really look down on manufactured homes of any kind but it is different out here.

The only real questions is: Why in the world would you paint any house pink?

Different Projects

So..... The project I was hoping for did not pan out.
That is okay.
God has a plan for us, we just need to figure out what it is.
It has been 6 months since we settled in Prescott, AZ.
So much has happened in that time.
God has grown us so very much.
I am learning how to deal with people again.
I have been blessed to be able to attend Church.
5+ years in the desert is a long time.

It is fun to look back at a new season in your life.
What changes are occurring in my life, in my family....
Watching my daughter grow into a confident young lady,
and seeing my husband be able to use his spiritual gifts.

Charles is getting the chance to use his teaching gifts at church.
That is such a blessing and gift to him.
Seeing how Christ has given him an interest in a subject for the last
two years and is now using that information to teach a class.

Though we may still have desires for things like more space, a house,
a second car (next week..yipee).. God is working all things for good.

And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God...... Romans 8:28

I am ready for a project.
It's not that I have not been working hard all summer.
I have been, but I want a project of my own.
A big project.
A project that will expand my skills and keep me occupied.
Something good to blog about. lol
Something to train help train my daughter.
She needs to learn how to use tools better.

Will it happen?
I don't know.....
We need to put a bid in and see.
It is all up to God.

I forgot about this

I actually finished my string quilt a while ago.
I made this quilt for the daughter of my friend, Donna.
Donna's daughter is opening a renal clinic in New York.
Her patients get cold and she wanted some quilts for them.
I made this without knowing what I was going to do with it
so I sent it out of state.
I have to admit it is one of my favorites since I started quilting.
Hope you enjoy.

I needed a break

It has been 6 months to the day since I last blogged.
So very much has happened and I am not sure if I should even try to catch you up.
We sold the large rig on November 30th and left the Grand Canyon on December 4
in between two different snow storms.
We spent the winter in southern California and finally made it to Disneyland.
Finally!
We love Disneyland, oh yes we do.

We also made it to the Pacific Ocean.
Though I had seen it before, neither my husband or daughter ever had.
In January we made it to Quartzsite, Az for the big RV show.
I have been wanting to go for about 11 years.
It lived up to all my expectations.
Even the ones involving not have a real bath for too many days.
Another place I have always wanted to go was to the Escapees park in Congress, AZ.
We made it there and our truck broke down.
About a thousand dollars later we were back on the road so we went to Prescott Valley, Az.
Somehow we cannot get out of this state. lol
We have asked God where He wants us to be.
As much as I want to be on the road, we really feel like He wants in in PV right now.
So, we are settling in again and are on the road to a new adventure.
Stay with me and I will show you where we go.
