I forgot about this

I actually finished my string quilt a while ago.
I made this quilt for the daughter of my friend, Donna.
Donna's daughter is opening a renal clinic in New York.
Her patients get cold and she wanted some quilts for them.
I made this without knowing what I was going to do with it
so I sent it out of state.
I have to admit it is one of my favorites since I started quilting.
Hope you enjoy.

I needed a break

It has been 6 months to the day since I last blogged.
So very much has happened and I am not sure if I should even try to catch you up.
We sold the large rig on November 30th and left the Grand Canyon on December 4
in between two different snow storms.
We spent the winter in southern California and finally made it to Disneyland.
Finally!
We love Disneyland, oh yes we do.

We also made it to the Pacific Ocean.
Though I had seen it before, neither my husband or daughter ever had.
In January we made it to Quartzsite, Az for the big RV show.
I have been wanting to go for about 11 years.
It lived up to all my expectations.
Even the ones involving not have a real bath for too many days.
Another place I have always wanted to go was to the Escapees park in Congress, AZ.
We made it there and our truck broke down.
About a thousand dollars later we were back on the road so we went to Prescott Valley, Az.
Somehow we cannot get out of this state. lol
We have asked God where He wants us to be.
As much as I want to be on the road, we really feel like He wants in in PV right now.
So, we are settling in again and are on the road to a new adventure.
Stay with me and I will show you where we go.

Changes and more changes

There has been so much going on the last several weeks.
Where do I even begin?
First, I guess, I have a new blog that is going to be about digital scrapping.
No additional chatting, just scrapping.
So, if you are interested you can find it here.
There is nothing there yet, but there will be.

We have had a large garage sale and sold a lot of our excess stuff that we have accumulated.
We sold our Lance camper (Tex) to a nice man in Flagstaff.
The funny part about that is the camper went back to the same neighborhood it came from.
It just took Tex 3.5 years to get back to his old stomping grounds.

Just today we were able to sell our cargo trailer.
Yes, he has a name too.
Wild Bill.
He is going to a new home here in the Canyon so he will only be around the corner.

Our Escort (Honey) has been sold as well.
Our goal is to be able to leave here in December with only a truck and an RV.
We have collected so much stuff since we arrived here in April 2007.
We did not realize just how much we had till we had to start getting rid of it.
We don't know if we will be invited back, by going seasonal we have put ourselves
back in the pile, so to speak, and will have to wait for an invite to come back to work.
We will see what God has in store for us next year.

The only other expensive news is the refrigerator in our home went out.
Ouch.
$1500 for a new one. So not happening...
We will either put a household fridge from Sears in here or there is someone local who has one that we might be able to get reasonably.
Grrr, just one more thing on my plate.
If we could get the old one out of the hole it would help.

It is never boring around here. That much can be said for sure.
We will chat more soon.

Big Changes

Well, we figured the best way to make big changes in our life was just to jump in with both feet.
Hubby has been a supervisor for the shuttle bus system here at the Canyon.
He was part time for 2 years and became full time last February.
Though he loved working with the people, he hated the hours and days off.
We were starting to become distant with each other and schooling our daughter
became next to impossible.
The 2:15am wake up call all summer were a nightmare.
When the boss told hubs that he could not have his Ipod at work...
well, that was kind of the end of it.

Hubby resigned as supervisor last Monday.
Tuesday he went back to work as a seasonal driver.
Wednesday he got to sleep till 9am.
Life is good.

We knew that schedule was not good for us.
Until he was out of that nightmare, we did not realize just how bad it was.
This last week has been a joy, rediscovering each other, talking coherently,
just spending time together.
We even had the chance to go to Church on Sunday.
The first Sunday in church since last February.

God is good.
