I love a potluck

I really do.
I love knowing that I only have to prepare one little thing
and then I will get an entire meal all spread out and ready to eat.

We have been having potlucks about once a week lately.
Since most of our drivers are seasonal we have quite the party
going on in the summer.
This year we actually had to wait till June for it to be warm enough for the fun to start.

There is nothing quite like a burger or chicken enchilidas or some other lovely
item, just waiting to hit my plate.
That is topped only by someone appearing around the corner with a tub of home made
ice cream.
Strawberry was the flavor of choice tonight and it was lovely.

What will it look like?

When my quilt is done, what will it look like?
I am scared to think about it too much.
I have all my fat quarters cut.
I have 4 blocks sewn together.
It is going to be very bright and colorful.
My house needs color very badly.
I have to go back to Williams for some more fabric.
3 of the fat quarters were cut poorly and I cut 2 more incorrectly.
Oh well, 120 miles and lunch at Red Raven.
The draw backs of living...... 90 miles from nowhere.
Or in this case, 60 miles from wherever.

I have the greatest husband

Really, I do.
We had our anniversary last weekend and we went to town. WhooHooo...
Hey, going to town is a red letter day for us...
Even if it looked like this on the drive.
We headed down on Sunday evening after he got off work.
I found a cheap hotel and we spent the night.
(Note to self, Nasty hotel, skip it next time)
We even had good food, which is amazing in itself.

Monday morning we got up and had breakfast at Wildflower Bread Company.
Thank goodness they finally opened one in Flag.
We discovered them in Prescott and just love the food.

Finally, what I have been waiting on for over a week.....
A trip to the local Home Depot.... Yes, I love orange!
Orange does wonderful things for me.
Orange can keep my house together and make it look better.
If there was a 12 step program for tool-aholics I would go.
Tools make my day.

So, back to the wonderful husband part of this.... Look what he bought for me.
Look at my anniversary gift.
Isn't it just the coolest thing you have ever seen?
I am so jazzed, so stoked, so .... whatever...
I am showing my age now so I will shut up.
But I really do have the best hubby ever.

Simple Joys Remembered

Do you remember Peanut Butter and Jelly sandwiches?

No, not the ones you fed your children. The ones that you ate yourself?
The creamy goodness of the peanut butter

The sweet and cold grape jelly?

Yeah, that one.
Every once in a while I have to have one. Today was that day.

Just a simple sandwich, some Cheez-Its

and a big glass of water. Yummy.
 Just the simple pleasures...
